Course Overview:


This course offers students the unique opportunity to explore the vast collections of the Metropolitan Museum of Art, diving deep into the world’s most significant art and cultural exhibits. By studying masterpieces from a wide range of time periods and regions—including ancient civilizations, European classics, Asian art, and modern pieces—students will broaden their understanding of global history, culture, and artistic traditions. Through guided discussions, interactive activities, and reflective writing, students will develop critical thinking skills, cultural literacy, and a deeper appreciation for the role of art in shaping human civilization. The course is designed to inspire a global perspective and a lifelong passion for learning and discovery.

  • Ph.D. in Chinese History and Literature, University of Minnesota

  • B.A. in Earth and Planetary Sciences, Harvard College

  • 20 years of teaching experience in world-renowned universities and high schools, including 10 years in China

  • Post-graduate studies in World Art History and Comparative Literature at Tsinghua University and National Taiwan University
